Foundation Stage Friday 1st July

Here are some of the things that we have been doing this week:

  • Reception and Nursery children practised sack races on the field.
  • Making models of spiders from egg boxes and pipecleaners.
  • Symmetrical butterfly prints
  • Observing, drawing and writing about our caterpillars.
  • Group 2 spent a whole day in the forest and cooked their own lunch.
  • We all said ‘cheese’ for the whole school photograph.
  • Learning how to program the Bee Bots.
  • Helping the new children when they visited.
  • Reception children have been drawing self-portraits and adding their comments to their reports.

  • Consolidating set 1 sounds and blending them to make words, Reading a simple story, filling in missing words in a sentence, holding and writing a sentence.

Green Group

Reading a simple story, filling in missing words in a sentence, holding and writing a sentence.

Red Group

Reading a simple story, filling in missing words in a sentence, holding and writing a sentence.

 Nursery children have been

  • Enjoying songs and rhymes and following the letters and sounds phonics programme.

Next Week

Please bear with us as the new safety surface, climbing frame and woodland cabin are being installed

Monday Reception children will be attending a water safety talk with the RNLI

 Tuesday Foundation Sports (weather permitting) 10.30am and 2.10pm

All Reception children will need a PE kit.

All Nursery children need suitable shoes, trainers preferably, for running. No crocs or open toe sandals please.

2.45 Meeting for parents of Nursery Children who will be transferring to the reception Class in September

Friday Open Afternoon 1.30-3.00pm parents are welcome to pop in and spend some time with their child.
