Foundation Stage Friday 18 September

Foundation Stage Friday  18th Sept

Here are some of the things that we have been doing this week:

Helping the new children to settle in and getting to know each other.

  • Printing with apples and talking about harvest.
  • Observing and painting oats.
  • Making flapjacks.
  • Learning about the Jewish festival of Rosh Hashanah and tasting apples dipped in honey.
  • Sponge and hand printing for a friendship tree.
  • Painting rainbow pictures.
  • Listening to the story Animal Boogie and Reception Class went into the hall for music and movement.

Read, Write Inc:

Reception children have been

  • learning the sounds d,t and i and how to write these correctly. Please continue to support their learning by encouraging them to complete the sheets which they will bring home and to make simple words from the sounds learnt so far eg. m,a,t, mat . s,a,t, sat. d,a,d, dad.

Nursery children have been

  • learning the sound b.
  • enjoying song and rhyme sessions.

Please help them to find objects at home that begin with our sound of the week and bring them for the display table. Next week’s sound will be c.

Next Week

Our focus children for Learning Journeys are: Lily. Torin, Euan, Joseph.

Forest School Group 1    Children will need their full kit .

Please ensure that your child has a named drawstring bag (rucksacks are too big and the children’s coats fall on the floor) with a complete change of NAMED clothes as they often get wet or muddy.
