Foundation Stage Friday

 4th December
Here are some of the things that we have been doing this week:

  • Listening to the story of the Nativity and talking about why we celebrate Christmas.
  • Learning Christmas songs particularly Away in a Manger which you may want to practise at home.
  • Painting Nativity pictures with silver and gold paints.
  • Making tissue paper ‘stained glass’ windows.
  • Printing with Christmas shapes.
  • Making strawberry Santas and eating them!
  • Using glitter dough and Christmas cutters.
  • Making bell shaped bird feeders. These are for the Christmas tree we made in the forest for the Christmas Tree Festival in St Peter’s Church on 12thDecember,

Reception children have been

  • Completing the Assessments and revising some of the set 1 sounds particularly sh,qu,ch,th,ng,and nk.

Nursery children have been

  • learning the sound l.
  • enjoying Christmas story and song sessions .

Please help them to find objects at home that begin with our sound of the week and bring them for the display table. Our next sound will be m.

Next Week

Our focus children for Learning Journeys are: Poppy

Monday  Children will be watching the Key Stage 1 dress rehearsal at 2pm.

No Forest School We will begin again in January a new rota will be displayed next term,

Wednesday New children visiting

Thursday 12.40.Christmas party lunch and show

There will be no morning nursery session except for those children who attend a full day on a Thursday. All other part time children should come to school at 12.40pm. Non uniform day, party clothes may be worn. Please sign up in the cloakroom to bring food if you have not already done so. Thank you

 Friday Children will be watching the Key Stage 2 dress rehearsal at 2pm.

Please ensure that your child has a complete change of NAMED clothes in their drawstring bag as they often get wet or muddy.
