Foundation Stage Friday

6th May

Here are some of the things that we have been doing this week:

  • Using our imagination to tell and write our own fairytale stories.
  • Making carriages for The Queen.
  • Rescuing then observing a toad before setting him free in our wildlife area.
  • Observing and drawing tadpoles from the pond.
  • Using hands to print a flower garden.
  • Chalk drawings of blossom
  • Reception children attended Collective Worship with Rev John Acreman.
  • We smiled for our class photos

Blue Group

  • Consolidating set 1 sounds and blending them to make words, playing I went to the market, rhyming strings.

Green Group

Reading a simple story, filling in missing words in a sentence, holding and writing a sentence.

Red Group

Reading a simple story, filling in missing words in a sentence, holding and writing a sentence. Writing words with ee and igh sounds. Writing a sentence with words that have the ee and igh sounds in.

 Nursery children have been

  • learning the sound z .

Next week they will be starting the letters and sounds phonics programme   rather than focusing on a sound a week.
