Foundation Stage News 11 September

Foundation Stage Friday

11th Sept

Welcome back we hope that you have all had a lovely summer. Welcome to our new children and their parents who will need to sign up for Parentmail, if they have not already done so, as this and other letters are distributed electronically.

Here are some of the things that we have been doing this week

  • Helping the new children to settle in and getting to know each other.
  • Drawing and writing about our holiday experiences.
  • Harvesting the poppy seeds and making seed packets to store them in.
  • Observing and drawing bees in the garden. Using reference books to find out about them.
  • Playing with the wild animals and finding out about lions and tigers.
  • Mixing paints and making playdough.

Read Write Inc.

Reception children have been

  • learning the sounds m, a, s, and how to write these correctly. Please continue to support their learning by encouraging them to complete the sheets which they will bring home. The sheets may be kept at home for the children to refer to as they need to continue practising writing the sounds with the correct formation.

Part time children have been

  • learning the sound a.
  • enjoying song and rhyme sessions.

Please help them to find objects at home that begin with our sound of the week and bring them for the display table. Next week’s sound will be b.

Next Week

Our focus children for Learning Journeys are: Heath, Neve, Maisie and Oliver.

Please ensure that your child has a named drawstring bag (rucksacks are too big and the childrens coats fall on the floor) with a complete change of NAMED clothes as they often get wet or muddy.
