Foundation Stage News

Here are some of the things that we have been doing this week:

  • Drawing and writing when making our Father’s Day cards.
  • Finding snails, creating a habitat for them and then observing them.

Reception children

Read Write Inc.

Blue Group

  • Using their phonic knowledge to read and write simple words and sentences.

Green Group

  • Reviewing set 2 sounds and blending them in words.
  • Using their phonic knowledge to read and write simple words and sentences.

Nursery children have been

  • Listening to stories. They especially enjoyed The Three Billy Goats Gruff
  • Singing traditional nursery rhymes and ring games.

Please help them to

  • Be familiar with some traditional rhymes.
  • find objects at home that begin with our sound of the week and bring them for the display table. Next week’s sound will be e.

Next Week

Forest School group 1. Please ensure that children have their full kit.

Waterproof coats and trousers are essential whatever the weather as they protect from stinging nettles and ticks.

Reception children will need their PE kits in a drawstring bag. Please make sure all items are labelled and they have trainers to run in.

Part time children are also joining in with games sessions and need to wear shoes suitable for running in no crocs or sandals please.
