Live Love Care Think Learn Dare

Foundation Stage Newsletter 20/3/15

Here are some of the things that we have been doing this week:

  • Talking about Ireland and St Patrick’s Day.
  • Making Irish flags and green collages.
  • Drawing and writing in our books.
  • Printing repeating patterns with flower shapes.
  • Reception children walked to church for Key Stage 1 Collective Worship.
  • Helping the new children who visited on Thursday afternoon.
  • Finding out about and watching the eclipse on a live web broadcast.

Reception Read Write Inc

Both groups have revised the sounds ay, ee, igh, ow, oo (as in zoo), oo (as in book) and learnt the new sound ar (as in car).

Blue Group

Blue Group have been using the Read Write Inc Ditty reading and writing book 2 Ditty 2 and have read a story, practised their letter formation and filled in the missing words in a sentence.

Green Group

Green Group worked on Read Write Inc. Ditty Book 3 story 3.

They have read a story, practiced the correct formation of letters, filled in the missing words in a sentence and then written a given sentence.

Nursery children next week’s sound is x.

Next Week:

Our focus children next week will be Torin, Charlie and Ava.

If anyone has any spare old tracksuit bottoms please may we have them for spares as we have run out of spare clothes for boys.Thank you.

Monday New children will be visiting.

Tuesday Forest School Group 1- lots of warm layers, thick socks, hats and gloves please

Thursday All children will be attending the whole school Easter Service in school.

Friday School finishes at 2.00pm for the Easter Break

Reception children return on Tuesday 14th April and Nursery children on Thursday 16th April. This is to allow us to home visit all the new children
