Live Love Care Think Learn Dare

Newsletter 10 October

Dear Parents

Simon Cornelius-Hicks and Rachael Simmonds, two of our parent governors, joined us for Well Done Assembly this morning to unveil our new school vision to the children.

Live, Love, Care, Think, Learn, Dare

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the very valuable process which has distilled our collective vision for the school into one, easy to remember line. You will see it appear around the school and on all documentation and children will be discussing the meaning behind the words in school and how they affect how we work together.

We are in the process of updating the website; please keep checking in as there will be lots of new information, including a new prospectus and photographs. We have a new Sports section on the website where we will upload photographs of the children in action.

Harvest: Each class has been taking a harvest themed story and presenting it to the school in Collective Worship each day, culminating in our Harvest Service in school led by Mrs Collins.  The children explored different Christian values, represented by different fruits. You might ask your children what, for example, a banana or a strawberry represents!

Harvest Supper reminder: Thursday 16 October 4.30-6.00pm. Bring your own plates, bowls, cutlery and glasses and a donation for our joint fund-raising with St Peter’s Church for the Tear Fund and Polly’s charity for Banbury Homeless.  Please sign up to bring some ingredients for the soup on the lists up in each cloakroom.

Reminder : School Meals are now £2.10 per day. Expansion Drop In: Wednesday 15/10/14 – 2.30-4.30pm & 6.30-7.30pm.

A great time was had by all and Miss Hope was really impressed with how hard all of the children worked.  The teachers’ team came second overall and the children managed a very honourable 11th, 17th and 18th places out of 24. Thank you to Miss Hope for organising such a popular sporting event.

PGL Liddington:  Everyone in Year 5 had an amazing time – the weather was perfect! The coaches commented that they were the best behaved and enthusiastic group they had ever had!
