Dear Parents

Key Stage 1 Christmas Production : A fantastic production of ‘The Midwife Crisis’, thank you to all of Key Stage 1 who sang and performed wonderfully.

Key Stage 2 Christmas Production : The Key Stage 2 performances take place next week at 6.00pm on Monday and 6.00pm on Wednesday – don’t forget to make sure you have your tickets! All donations gratefully received to fund the senior citizens’ tea party and licenses for the productions.

Please can I remind you that the evening productions are for adults and siblings at other schools only – a crèche is provided (sign up at the office) by staff volunteers for other Hook Norton School siblings (who will have seen the production in school) and pre-school children.

PARKING: The school playground may be used for parking for the evening performances – please avoid driveways if parking on Sibford Road. Thank you.

Reminder: Christmas Dinner: School Christmas Dinner is on Thursday – don’t forget your party hats! It’s our tradition that children make or bring hats to wear during the meal.  The vegetarian option is now Quorn Roast with all the trimmings.

Recorder Club Reminder: Recorders are playing at Font Cafe on Saturday – full uniform, coats and recorders, meet 10.15am at St Peter’s Church, collect 11.45am please.

Clubs:  This term’s clubs have now finished,

Information on clubs being offered next term is being sent home next week – slips with payment to be returned by Tuesday 6th January 2015.

Library – Please return all books.

FOHNS: Thank you for all your support so far this year – the Christmas Fayre raised over £2000 which will go towards the new interactive boards.

Attendance: Well Done to Year 4 for Full Attendance 1-5 December 2014.

Well done!  This week we have said well done to: All Year 1, Aiden Smith,All Year 2, Brooklynn Robinson, Olivia Weeks, Oscar Ward, Annabelle Butler, Tarron Gilkes, Morgan Wollerton, All Year 5 for their very well run Games at the Christmas Fayre, All Year 6, Ellie Butler, Tane Wallis.

My Star of the Week:  Joe Jordan for being the first to give me the correct definition of ‘Advent’.

Activities/Visits: Our Year 3 and 4’s attended a Partnership Benchball Tournament, Spain were the winning team. New Foundation Stage children visited this week, ready for the New Year.  Y4 and 5 watched Vastra Skolan perform their St Lucia celebrations via video link to Sweden. A group of Y4 and Y5 children attended the Gifted and Talented English workshop at CN school. The school hosted a Christmas tea for the older members of the community who all enjoyed the KS1 Nativity and sang along with the Carols played by Mrs Wood’s Recorder Group.

Out of School Achievements: Well done to: Poppy Driver Green Award Wade Gymnastics, HN Junior Football Club Under 8s winners of the District League, Isobel Boyes-Watson who increased the school’s total of £400 to £900 for the Junior Diabetes Research Fund, Daisy Petre Stage 3 Swimming, Lily Armstrong, Grace Mariner, Georgia Street, Jasmin-Ebony Blake, Victoria Harris, Daisy and Rosie Petre completed the Katherine House Hospice Santa Fun Run. Ella White raised over £130 for Macmillan through her Christmas card sales.

REMINDER:  School finishes at 2pm next Friday, 19 December, for the Christmas holiday.  Full-time pupils return to school on Tuesday 6 January (Thursday 8 January for Foundation Stage part-timers).
