Dear Parents

Erasmus+/Swedish Visit: We are delighted to be hosting another group of staff and pupils from Vara, Sweden who arrived on Wednesday and are enjoying their experiences as British schoolchildren.

Staffing: Congratulations to Mrs Nixon who is expecting her first baby in July.

School Meals: The new menu has been finalised and will be sent home nearer the end of term. All outstanding balances including payments for the last week of term to be paid by Monday 26 March. Remember, all meals should be paid for in advance, by Monday or the first working day of the week – we currently have £228.30 outstanding.
Snack Bar: After Easter, the price for all snack bar items will increase to 35p.

Extra-curricular activities : Next week is the last week of this term’s clubs – details of the summer term’s activities will be circulated next week.
Keith Allen – Music lessons changed from Thursday 22nd March to Tuesday 20th March and Thursday 29th March to Tuesday 27th March.

On Thursday 29 March, Poppy and Annabelle from Year 6 have arranged to collect money at the school gate for the Brain Tumour Research charity. If you have any money that you could donate, in memory of an ex-parent of the school who sadly passed away last year, they would be grateful.

Activities this week:
N: Making a cable car to go up a mountain.
R: Learning about Spring and Sweden.
Y1: Attended the ‘Commotion in the Ocean’ Partnership Dance Festival.
Y1/Y2: Setting up Science experiments exploring what plants need to live and grow.
Y3: Learning about graphs, and morris dancing.
Y4: Newspaper report about Pompeii, freeze frames and interviewing witnesses
Y5: Writing pirate stories and maypole dancing.
Y6: Visit to Think Tank, Birmingham, recycled fashion show, country dancing and games afternoon.

Winnie the Pooh Mural – Thank you to the Hewitt-Gray family for donating a wonderful mural; Nursery children are enjoying this addition to their bathroom!
Mothering Sunday ~ Thank you to Year 2 who helped Mrs Collins and the church volunteers make beautiful Mothering Sunday gifts for St Peter’s which were given to all the mums at church last Sunday.
Travelling Book Fair – Thank you for your support, we have a record amount of £534.01 commission for the school to spend on books through your purchases.

Incredible Edible: The garden working party rearranged for this weekend – 17th/18th March, 10.00am. If you would like to help please contact Annie Tullett at markannietullett@gmail.com or phone 01608 738106.

St Peter’s Church Pop-Up Market: Saturday 17 March 9.30-13.00, alongside Font Café + Hot Soup Lunch. Crafts, Baby Goods, Bric-a-Brac, Cakes, Fabric and Toys. Proceeds for St Peter’s Church.
