Dear Parents

Year 6 Primary to Secondary Transfer September 2016: As you are no doubt aware, the closing date for submission of on-time applications for Secondary School Year 7 2016 is 2 November 2015. This date is crucial as parents are more likely to receive a school offer of their choice if their application is submitted before the deadline. Apply on-line at www.oxfordshire.gov.uk/schooladmissions following the links to secondary transfer, or see the school office for a form.

Starting School 2016 : Parents of children born between 1/9/11 and 31/8/12 must make an application for their child to start in Reception in September 2016. Closing date for on-time applications is 15 January 2016. Apply on-line following the links at www.oxfordshire.gov.uk/schooladmissions.

Individual/Family group photographs: Photographs have been sent home and we have been given a very short deadline for payment/forms to be returned next Monday 19 October.  Please contact the school office on 01608 737379 or by e-mail office.3044@hook-norton.oxon.sch.uk if you have not received a copy.

FOHNS Big Bake Cake Sale – Thursday 22 October : FOHNS are starting their big push to raise £20,000 for the Foundation Stage new play equipment and to get new chairs for every child in school! As part of this the Friends are organising a monthly Cake Sale after school. We are asking the parents of each class to take a turn in producing the cakes for the sale for everyone to buy after school and this will start with Year 6’s Big Bake Cake Sale on Thursday 22nd October.

The Friends are also looking to produce a t-towel with children’s drawings of themselves, for sale (at approximately £5 each) before Christmas, but need to know likely sales in advance.  There will be two separate t-towels produced, one for Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1, the other for Key Stage 2. Please complete and return the attached slip (or e-mail your requirements to office.3044@hook-norton.oxon.sch.uk).  Priority will be given to those who have placed orders, payment will be collected once the price has been established.

Head Lice – In Year 6, please check the whole family’s hair!

OCC’s auditor conducted a Financial Audit on Wednesday, the Governors Finance & Premises Committee held their first meeting of the academic year, Mrs Joyner attended a meeting of Pastoral Support Advisers in the partnership, and Mrs Voce met with the partnership PE/link advisers.  Thank you for your response to Teddy Aid, Mrs Sammy Newman has collected 190 cuddly toys following her talk in Monday’s assembly.
