Dear Parents

Key Stage 2 Christmas Production :  ‘Shakespeare Rocks” was a resounding success and the children thoroughly entertained us. The singing was particularly lovely this year- the songs obviously really appealed to the children. It was good to celebrate our local playwright!

Christmas Service; Thank you to everyone who took part in yesterday morning’s service, the children sang and played recorders beautifully. Thank you to Mrs Collins for her ‘Cracker’ themed talk.

Harry Bartlett CupsCongratulations to Ella White and to William Porter who have been awarded our highest honour – the Harry Bartlett Cup for their outstanding contributions to the school.

Activities/Visits: Well done to the recorder group who performed to various groups around the village and were fully booked! Thank you Mrs Wood who has given up a great deal of time to get them to such a high standard.

Thanks to the kitchen staff for a fantastic Christmas Dinner enjoyed by the children and staff yesterday. There were some very festive hats on display! I particularly liked Darcy Lambourne’s reindeer hat and Pippa McArdle’s snowman hat; many creative hours had been spent on them!

I hope you were able to visit the Christmas Tree Festival at St Peter’s Church. There were some incredibly creative trees, including a palm tree from Year 3, a twig tree from Foundation Stage from Forest school, a book tree from FOHNS and  a Feed the World Tree from JAM Club.

FOHNS: Thank you to the Friends who have worked incredibly hard this term raising funds of around £4,500 towards their £20,000 target for new tables and chairs and Foundation Stage play area. Coming up next year there are plans for further bake sales, family bingo and family film nights – dates will be confirmed in the New Year.
