Mrs Belgrove’s stars of the week: Jerome Davies for his encouragement of his classmates in the Virtual Athletics tournament and Orla McArdle for her kindness and hard work.
Activities/Visits: A group of Y6 children have visited Chipping Norton School as part of their transition.
Year 5 have been taking their cycling proficiency. Many thanks to Gareth Lewis, Clare Tobin and Lisa Bayliss for volunteering – without parent trainers we wouldn’t be able to run this valuable course. They have done a wonderful job; all of Year 5 passed this year!
Miss Nunneley has led the Virtual Athletics tournament this week where every child competes in a number of set events and the top scores for each year group go towards a final tally against all the partnership schools. Year 3 had a lovely day visiting Dashwood School in Banbury where Dashwood children organised a sports competition followed by some healthy snacks. This was part of Year 3’s science topic on the human body and health and fitness.
Year 1 completed their phonics check this week; Mrs Vint was extremely proud of all of them.
Miss Nunneley took our winning Year 6 Athletics team to the West Oxfordshire Finals. They did very well over four events; Tane Wallis achieved a Gold, Imogen Taylor and Zach Warner a Silver and Eddie Brearey a Bronze certificate.
The School Nurse has talked to Year 6 and Year 5 as part of our Sex Education curriculum.
Christian Value of the month: Justice
Good luck to our Y6 children on their transition days at Chipping Norton School next week.
Mrs S Belgrove
