Activities this week:
We had our Easter Service in school – each class has decorated a large box with the Easter story which will be fitted together to make a cross. This will be on show in St Peter’s Church over Easter, so please take the opportunity to pop in and see it.
Y3 and Y4 had a golf session through CNS partnership. We said goodbye to our Swedish guests who felt quite at home over the weekend with our snow!
Elf Owls impressed us with the range of work in their sharing act of Collective Worship with the school and parents.
Well done to Y5 and Y6 choir who took part in the CN Music Festival singing workshop.
Clubs: Details will be coming home today for next term’s clubs. All Spring clubs have now finished.
Sport: Well done to the children who took part in the School Games Crew training at CNS: Becky Milne, Emily Cutter, Niamh Hewitt-Gray, Ned Kingsley-Bates, Bethany Jarvis, Toby Luxton.
We will be holding our own ‘Sport Relief’ sponsored run next term to raise money for our daily mile track and pirate ship.
N: Devised patterns to decorate Easter eggs.
R: Baking Hot Cross Cookies and made Easter cards.
Y1/Y2: Wrote diaries based on the story; ‘The Flower’
Y3: Enjoyed a Photography workshop and took their own amazing photographs.
Y4: Held a debate on rebuilding Pompeii. Mrs Walker enjoyed being addressed as ‘You Honour’!
Y5: Had a fully immersive visit to Sulgrave Manor and became Tudors for the day.
Y6: Wrote to Chris Grayling, the Minister for Transport, about the potholes in and around Hook Norton.
Pete Watkins Guitar lessons changed from Monday 26 March to Wednesday 28 March.
Keith Allen – Music lessons changed from Thursday 29th March to Tuesday 27th March.
On Thursday 29 March, Poppy and Annabelle from Year 6 have arranged to collect money at the school gate for the Brain Tumour Research charity. If you have any money that you could donate, in memory of an ex-parent of the school who sadly passed away last year, they would be grateful.
Hook Norton Garden Club Spring Show 14th April 2018: Calling all under 16s – can you make a brilliant Lego model, cook tasty cakes, decorate a pot, garden or take a lovely photograph? Entry forms from the school, village shop or library.

Easter Holidays – annual Easter Treasure Trail. Details of the Easter Rabbit Hunt are being distributed today – information and additional forms will be available on the school website.

Out of School Achievements : Well done to Sydney Maule for her Cinderella Ballet performance, Freya Rennie Red Award Wade Gymnastics, Jack Reid for taking part in the Chipping Norton Music festival playing the piano, Bethany Jarvis 800m Swimming, Noah Edge Stage 3 Swimming, Rosie Petre Silver Speed Award Breaststroke and front Crawl. (Certificates will be awarded in Monday’s Collective Worship owing to the Easter Service today.)
