Dear Parents

Red Nose Day:

Today has been a great success with the children wearing their red noses and enjoying the red Tuck Shop. Thank you for your very kind donations, with all proceeds going towards Comic Relief.  I will let you know next week how much we raised.

Sue Wood’s recorder group will run on Tuesday 4th April, and Tuesday 25th April (so they are ready for May Day!) which will be the last session.  Other than this, and the catch-up session for Yoga on Thursday 6 April, next week is the last week for clubs this term.

Travelling Book Fair – Amount raised : £720.50 giving us £372.00 to spend on books.  Thank you for being such book worms!

Headlice Alert: Parents have found nits in Nursery again – for two weeks in a row – please ensure you check children’s hair thoroughly.

Parent Survey – there is still time to complete the survey. Please complete the online NfER survey by the end of March at www.nfer.ac.uk/npps/prpa – using the school number 202340 and password HXHH – so that we can learn more about your views on different aspects of school life. It is completely confidential and anonymous.

Midday Supervisor Vacancy:  We are still looking for one Midday supervisor.  Please ask at the office if you are interested in this vital role.

The School Lunch Company is seeking to recruit Catering Assistants for Hook Norton Primary School. Hours 11-2pm One day a week Wednesday term time only. £7.50 per hour

School Meals: The cost of a school meal will increase in the Summer term to £2.20, therefore we need all outstanding balances and payments for the last week of term to be paid by Monday 3 April before the price increase.

Attendance:  Well done to Y6 for Almost Full Attendance 13-17 March 2017

WELL DONE!  This week we have said well done to:- Jack Findlay, Cameron Crow, Ava Bennett, Otto Thompson, Emma Barnett, Alfie Hambidge, Isabella Harvey, Alma Richter-Mahr, Lani Tanner, Emily Carroll-Mayes, Lily Armstrong, all Y6.

Activities/Visits : Mrs Crouch and Mrs Peters are leading a party of Y6 children on the exchange to Vara, Sweden.  The remaining Y6 children had an amazing time at Kidzania yesterday where they tried their hands at various different jobs, including the police force, estate agent, going to university, aviation academy, being a courier, dentistry, fire and rescue, chocolate manufacturing, presenting on a radio station, supermarket working and presenting the weather in a TV studio- phew! Year 2 gave us a very entertaining class assembly demonstrating their prowess on the glockenspiel as well as telling us about the queen as part of their topic on the 1950s. Mrs Tanner brought in her 7 puppies to the great delight of Y4 and Y6.
Out of School Achievements : Well done to Ellis Holdsworth, Emily Cutter, Pippa McArdle, Freja Winhammar, Alma Richter-Mahr, Iris Fledderus, Lulu Housby, Freya White, David Kirk and Orla McArdle for their awards at the Chipping Norton Music Festival. Swimming: Orla McArdle Silver Award, Rosie Petre Gold Award and Stage 9. Otto Thompson Stage 5, Max Sampson 200m.
