Dear Parents

 

Open Afternoon – Friday 4 July, 1.30 – 3.00pm : You are warmly welcome to attend your child’s classroom to look at the work they have been doing in school. Refreshments available in the hall.

There will be a Piano ‘concert’ in the Study Centre at 3pm for parents/carers of piano students with Karina Bell.

Sports Days: Next Monday we have our Alternative Sports Day – please could all children have their PE kit in school with their team-coloured t-shirt and bring a hat and sun cream. Drinks will be provided.

Menu Change for Thursday 3rd July – Mad hatter’s Tea Party (If you want any info on Alice’s Day in Oxford see https://www.storymuseum.org.uk/whats-on/alice/). Enjoy chequered sandwiches and tasty treats!

Lost property:All ‘Lost Property’ has been placed outside on tables – please have a look and claim anything belonging to your child(ren). Items not claimed will be bagged for the next Bag2School collection. The school office also has a selection of keys, jewellery and glasses

Library: The last lending library session has taken place – all books to be returned next Thursday, 3 July. Thanks to Mrs Orchard for all her help with this. Sign up for this summer’s reading challenge ‘Mythical Maze’ at Hook Norton Library – collect stickers, wristbands and a host of goodies as you read six books over the holidays. There is also a summer reading challenge for adults too (but I am not sure if you get stickers!).

Well Done! : Each week, we celebrate particularly special achievements of children. This week we have said well done to:-.Alfie Simmonds, Olivia Weeks, Freya Winhammar, Rosie Petre, Catherine Monelle, Charlotte Nunneley, Jojo Styles, Kieran Casson, Georgia Rooney, Lilya Macdonald, Tabby Dennick , Lewis Tobin.

Out of School Achievements : Well done to Jessica Rogers 50m swimming, Leila Denne 50 m swimming, Lottie Denne Grade 5 swimming.

Activities/Visits:All children in school spent the morning in their new classes for September on Wednesday to get to know their new teachers, and Year 6 transferring to Chipping Norton School have attended transfer visits to their secondary school this week in preparation for moving into Year 7 in September. A group of Year 5’s spent a day at a gifted and talented maths workshop at Blessed George Napier in Banbury. Sir Tony Baldry MP visited today and had a tour of the school and met with the School Council who asked him some searching questions. He particularly liked our hippos!

** FOHNS Summer BBQ (Friday 11 July, 5.30pm onwards) ** The Friends would appreciate any offers of help, particularly with clearing up after the event – please let the office know.
