Dear Parents

May Day – Fortunately the rain held off for our May Day celebrations and the sun nearly shone! Thank you to everyone who came to watch and to FOHNS for refreshments.  The children looked the part in their floral dresses and smart shirts and they danced beautifully. (Miss Crooker’s secret is out – she is a professional Morris dancer…) Thanks to Jean Webb our ex-parent governor for crowning our May Queen, Georgia Sealey, accompanied by her attendants Violet Robey, Ava Wilson, Harry Wright and Josh Stratford. Thank you to Anna Lehmann for making the garland, carried by Rosie Petre and Gemma Webb. Many thanks to Mrs Wood and her recorder group.

School Activities this week: Y4, Y5 and Y6 enjoyed a visit from the author Abi Elphinstone as part of the Chipping Norton Literary festival. The governors met to agree the new school budget. I attended a meeting with Mrs Macdonald about the new 30 hours funded offer for Nursery children, which will be introduced in September.  The Foundation Stage teachers attended a course on creative thinking in the early years. On our INSET day the teachers reviewed safeguarding practices and procedures and looked at pupil progress.

This Week we have said ‘Well Done’ to : all the children for their brilliant dancing.
