Now we are back to our normal weather!
Thank you all very much for your kind donations of sweets for the Family BBQ.
Good News! We have been awarded the Green Flag (again) for our commitment to looking after our environment. The Eco Committee with Mrs Crouch gave the very appreciative inspector a tour of the school and talked knowledgeably about all the different things we do to help preserve our planet for the future.
Yoga – there will be no Yoga Club next Thursday 6 July – you are welcome to book your child into Owl Club if you need childcare. A catch-up session has been arranged for Tuesday 18 July, 3.15-4.15pm.
School Activities this week:.
A group of talented Mathematicians attended a workshop at Chipping Norton School.
Y2 have been writing their own stories based on Horrid Henry and making salads.
Y3 have been drawing beautifully detailed maps of the village.
Y6 have been designing and making water powered toys.
Y4 have been doing secret stuff …sshh!
Y1 have been learning about 3D shapes – they were very excited to tell me my favourite chocolate is a triangular prism! They have also been researching the first modes of transport.
Y5 have all completed their cycling proficiency and all did extremely well. Many thanks to Gareth Lewis, Lisa Bayliss, Vicky Hambidge and Jill Hewitt-Gray for their help. They have also been learning about the layers of the Rain Forest.
Sports: Our children have been taking part in the inaugural CNPS Virtual Marathon Competition. All the children have run 1 mile, with the fastest 26 times going forward against the other partnership schools. The fastest runner for Hook Norton was Lukas Wahlen. There were several Y2 children who made our top 26 – wow!
