We have had a wonderful week learning about the way in which different people celebrate weddings. We learnt about how Hindus, Jews and Christians celebrate weddings and talked about what was the same and what was different. In the role play area we have been celebrating weddings by having wedding feasts and dressing up in our ‘Sunday Best’. We have been designing wedding dresses and wedding cakes, building churches and wedding cars and writing wedding invitations and cards. Outside our activities have been based around The Scarecrow’s Wedding.
In Friday cookery this week the children made and iced wedding cupcakes.
Phonics is going well. We are continually assessing children to ensure that they are getting personalised provision.
This week we have been learning to estimate and compare numbers to 20. Can your child use the language ‘more’ and ‘fewer’ to compare sets of items up to 20?
Next week’s Learning Journey children will be Barney, Chloe, Courtney and Victoria.
Please keep your child (and any younger children) with you before and after school.
Please make sure your child’s clothes (including hats, gloves, Forest clothes, PE kits etc.) are named.
Please enquire at the office if you are interested in finding out more information about our wrap around care (Owl Club).
Please make sure your child has a spare clothes bag at school just in case we need to change them for any reason (e.g. being soaked in the water/ getting muddy in the mud kitchen / accidents or vomit).
The travelling book fair will be at school on Monday for its last day.
Forest School Group 1 on Tuesday – thank you for parents who have already signed up to help. We have one space for a parent helper in the afternoon group.
PE on Monday.
Next week we will be learning about Spring focusing on why we have seasons and what happens in our environment in the spring.
Have a great weekend!
