Friday 16th December
We have been feeling really festive! We enjoyed our Christmas party on Tuesday with a delicious lunch from the kitchen and an amazing spread of tasty treats from our lovely mummies and daddies.
Thursday’s carol service was a success, the children really enjoyed singing their songs and listening to the readings. They also enjoyed Christmas dinner on Thursday lunchtime which ran very smoothly!
Inside this week the children have been writing to Father Christmas, telling the Christmas Story with our play Nativity scene and playing in the Post Office role play area. Outside we have been making baubles using different translucent materials and printing patterns. We have also been singing Christmas songs all week!
A small group of children went to the Post Office to post our letters to Father Christmas. They weighed their parcels and paid for a stamp in coins before posting the letters in the post box.
In phonics we have been learning how to use magnet boards to make words.
This week we have been using mathematical language while weighing and measuring parcels and using money to pay for our parcels. Some children have been practicing forming numbers. Can your child write numbers 0-9?
Thank you to those who helped at the Christmas party.
Thank you to parents who walked with us to church on Thursday.
Thank you to parents who walked to the Post Office with a small group this week- it was lovely!
Please take the opportunity over the holidays to check your child’s clothing is named. We were overwhelmed with the amount of lost property we have dealt with over the course of this term.
The children start back on Wednesday 4th January.
PE will recommence on Monday 9th January. Please make sure your child has a named PE bag on their peg in a drawstring bag. They need black shorts and a white t-shirt.
Please continue to check the Forest School board for up to date information about Forest School.
Have a wonderful Christmas. Looking forward to seeing you in the New Year!
