Live Love Care Think Learn Dare

Reception Times 18 May 2018

We have had a great week this week learning about weddings in the build up to the royal wedding this weekend. The children have been making collage wedding cakes and dresses, learning words to do with weddings and writing wedding invitations. We have also tried to learn the names of important royal wedding guests. Can your child remember who Prince Harry’s grandma is?

Outside we have been thinking about spring time. The children have been fishing numbered fish, playing with worms and making the most of the warm weather by getting out some water play.

Phonics & Maths:
In Phonics we are working towards children’s individual targets. Some children have started to learn about letter names. Can your child write the Green Words from the front of the reading record books?
In Maths we have been learning about patterns.

Next week:
Vision screening on Monday.
We will be continuing with assessments and learning about what happens when you mix different colours.
End of term Friday 25th May at 3.10pm.

Notices:
Grand Garage & Boot Sale with Bike and Bake Sale Sunday 20th May from 2pm. See main school newsletter for full details. Thank you for your donations of cakes.

Thank you for handing in your technology homework. Just a couple missing – please check book bags / reading record books.

We have ordered packed lunches from the kitchen for our school trip today. If you haven’t handed in your slip, please come and see us so that we can speak to the kitchen.

Forest school group 1 on Tuesday 22nd May. Please can the morning group come ready to leave and the afternoon group come with their waterproofs and wellies in a named bag. Please send children with an extra carrier bag for their dirty kit, preferably named. Please make sure you have checked the Forest School board so that you know which group your child is now in. Thank you for signing up to help. Please make sure your child has waterproof trousers and a waterproof coat, regardless of the weather. These protect children from scratches and stings as well as the rain.

Please continue to focus on practicing writing at home.

Please keep children with you on the playground before and after school.
