Live Love Care Think Learn Dare

Reception Times 23 November 2018

This week has been another interesting week.  The class are enjoying signing ‘Good morning’ at register time.  Can they remember how to sign it to you?

Inside we have been thinking about people who help us and how to practise good hygiene.

Outside, despite the freezing temperatures! we have been practising to write our names with pen and paint and making ice pictures.

Miss Mayall and the Learning Journey children made carrot cake.

Friday afternoon we had a great time watching the Key Stage 2 Dress Rehearsal of their Christmas production titled ‘Pirates of the Curry Bean!’

Phonics & Maths:

In Phonics we have learnt our new sounds ch, qu, x and ng. Thank you for helping your child to practise these at home.

In Maths we have been learning to recognise coins to 20 pence and how many pennies are equivalent to the same value.  Can your child tell you how many pennies are in 2p, 5p, 10p and 20p?

Next Week:

Non-uniform Day Friday Please bring in a donation of Christmas cards, roll of paper or a Christmas decoration.  Thank you for all the chocolate for our Christmas FairJ

Please sort out any unwanted clean cuddly toys for the Foundation stage Teddy Tombola.  Thank you for the donations we have had so far.

Learning Journeys:

Learning Journey children will be Oliver, Liberty and Tabitha.

Notices:

The SuperRu charity event last Saturday was amazing.  Well done to all involvedJ

Thank you for the clothes donated to the Bags2school collection.

Headlice reported in boys and girls. Please check your child’s hair.

Unfortunately due to the Flu vaccinations on Tuesday Mrs Macdonald is unable to take Forest School Group 2.  We are very sorry about this, especially to the Parent volunteers who have signed up to help.

Please take a look at our Wishing Tree located between the Nursery and the Reception Class under the Forest Schools Noticeboard.  Thank you for the buttons.

Please check the Lost Property box as it is quite full!

To avoid any accidents please keep your children with you in the outdoor area before and after school.

Please can you discourage your child from bringing in random objects for ‘show & tell.’ Thank you.

Have a good weekend.
