Friday 23rd September
We have had another great week this week and the children have been very busy! This week we have been painting patterns on snakes, making lion and tiger masks, drawing self-portraits, exploring stories in the water tray (‘Mr Gumpy’s Outing’ and ‘Noah’s Ark’), building a hospital in the role play area and pretending to make cement out of the sand. We have attended our first Collective Worship Assembly with Mrs Collins on Ambition which is our whole school ‘Owl Value’ of the month.
In phonics we have learnt to read and write the sounds-‘d’, ‘t’, ‘i’ and ‘n’. We have also been practicing reading last week’s sounds at speed.
This week we have been practicing our counting skills and learning how to recognise and continue a repeating pattern of colours, shapes and objects. We made patterns out of fruit on our fruit kebabs and created patterns using coloured cubes and beads. Can your child recognise any patterns in their environment? For example on a border or duvet cover?
Next week’s Learning Journeys will be Scarlott, Tyler M-T and Harry.
Please keep clear of the gate into the main playground before and after school so that parents and children can safely get in and out of the playground.
Please make sure that your child has a spare clothes bag at school in case we need to change them during the school day, especially as we go into the wet autumn weather.
We will be collecting in the slips for Forest School for Mrs Macdonald.
Have a nice weekend!
