The children have been fascinated with frogs this week after finding a squashed frog at Forest School(!). We have been watching our frogspawn hatch into tadpoles and learning about the life cycle of a frog. They have also been very interested in worms. We have been learning about frogs and worms inside and outside including reading about and building a wormery, printing pictures of frogspawn and tadpoles and printing worm pictures. We have been comparing the size of our worms, reading worm stories and doing close observational drawings of our wormery.
Today we have had a great day learning about Red Nose Day and how we can raise money to help others.
Phonics is going well. We are continually assessing children to ensure that they are getting personalised provision.
This week we have been learning to order and compare numbers to 20 and state one more or one less. Can your child read and order numbers to 20?
Next week’s learning journeys will be Clemmie.
Please keep your child (and any younger children) with you before and after school.
The church have asked us to remind everyone about the 10am service at St Peters Church for Mothering Sunday.
Please make sure your child’s clothes (including hats, gloves, Forest clothes, PE kits etc.) are named.
Please enquire at the office if you are interested in finding out more information about our wrap around care (Owl Club).
Please make sure your child has a spare clothes bag at school just in case we need to change them for any reason (e.g. being soaked in the water/ getting muddy in the mud kitchen / accidents or vomit).
May Day celebrations will be taking place on Friday 28th April. Parents are invited to come and watch us do our traditional country dances and enjoy coffee and croissants on the playground from 9-10:30am.
We will be beginning to think about Easter.
Forest School Group 1- thank you to parents who have already signed up to help.
