This week we have been enjoying looking at the author and illustrator Eric Carle, reading his stories and finding his illustrations on the internet. The children have been busy creating illustrations like Eric Carle, finding out more about the life cycle of a butterfly, learning about the animals that the Bad-Tempered Ladybird meets in her journey. Outside we have been learning about the weather, painting weather pictures, creating bubble prints and learning about and using the symbols on a weather map.
Phonics is going well. We are continually assessing children to ensure that they are getting personalised provision.
This week we have been learning to recognise symmetry and creating symmetrical images. Can your child paint a symmetrical painting?
Next week’s Learning Journeys will be Claudia, Ralph, Sienna, Fenton and Noah.
PE kits should be in school at all times.
Please make sure your child’s clothes (including hats, gloves etc.) are named.
Thank you for ensuring that you take your child to the office if you are late (after 9am).
Please enquire at the office if you are interested in finding out more information about our wrap around care (Owl Club).
Thank you for keeping toys and other items at home. We have shared a few WOW sheets this week and even had some children bringing in their own research on Eric Carle’s illustrations!
