新年快乐– Happy New Year! The children have thoroughly enjoyed learning about the traditions of Chinese New Year and welcoming in the year of the Rooster. Inside we have been making Chinese lanterns, learning about the story of The Great Race, making Chinese New Year cards and playing in the Chinese Restaurant role play area.
Outside we have been writing Chinese symbols, making Chinese lion puppets and playing with Chinese chopsticks, soup spoons and rice.
The children enjoyed lighting a fire and toasting marshmallows in the forest this week.
Phonics is going well. We are continually assessing children to ensure that they are getting personalised provision.
This week we have been learning about number bonds to ten and doubling numbers to five. Can your child split ten items up into different ways and say the number sentence? E.g. 4 + 6 = 10
Next week’s Learning Journeys will be Lincoln, Elodie and Bonnie.
Please ensure your children are with you on your way in and out of the school. Mrs Belgrove has noted that lots of children have been running ahead of their parents after school- we currently have no crossing patrol! Also, please ensure your children, including younger children, are kept with you inside the FSU gates.
PE kits should be in school at all times.
Please make sure your child’s clothes (including hats, gloves, Forest clothes etc.) are named.
Please enquire at the office if you are interested in finding out more information about our wrap around care (Owl Club).
