We have had a brilliant week this week! Inside the children have been doing activities surrounding the Disney film Moana. The children have made boats using corks, sticks and fabric, built boats using the bricks for their role plays, studied the globe and atlas and drawn their own maps of islands and listening to the story of Moana.
Outside we have been focusing on Jack and the Beanstalk. Some children have had a go at making up their own versions of the story. We have printed leaves and painted a beanstalk, studied different types of beans for observational drawings and designed a raised flower bed using collage. We have been filling up our new raised beds and the Nursery children have started planting their sunflowers.
John Acreman delivered a wonderful Collective Worship on The Good Shepard.
Phonics is going well. We are continually assessing children to ensure that they are getting personalised provision.
This week we have been learning to name 2d and 3d shapes. Can your child point out 2d shapes in the supermarket?
