Live Love Care Think Learn Dare

Reception Times 9 December 2016

This Week:

We have been practicing for our Christmas Service at church which is next Thursday. Inside we have been making party hats for our Christmas party, writing letters to Father Christmas and playing with the Mobilo winter house. Outside we have been finding out about how ice freezes and melts, making handprint Christmas trees and painting nativity scenes. We have been telling the Nativity story in lots of different ways, incorporating our Christmas carols and puppets.

On Monday we had a wonderful afternoon watching Key Stage 1’s wonderful take on the Nativity. The children really enjoyed Mrs Collins’s Collective Worship Assembly about our Value of the Month, Love.

Phonics:

In phonics we have been learning how to use magnet boards to make words using different sounds, practicing forming capital letters and learning letter names.

Maths:

This week we have been using money in Miss Kershaw’s shop and comparing length with Stick Man. Can your child use coins to pay for something at the shop?

Notices:
