Foundation Stage Friday: 11 December

Here are some of the things that we have been doing this week:

  • Learning Christmas songs particularly Away in a Manger which you may want to practise at home.
  • Helping the new children when they came to visit.
  • Making party hats.
  • Designing patterns on Christmas baubles.
  • Making Christmas pompoms.
  • Blowing bubbles and making bubble paintings.
  • Watching the dress rehearsals of Key Stage 1 and 2
  • Having a party lunch.
  • Watching a performance of ‘Not such an Ugly Duckling’ by the Aesop’s Touring Theatre Company

Reception children have been

  • revising some of the set 1 sounds particularly sh,qu,ch,th,ng,and nk.

Nursery children have been

  • learning the sound m.
  • enjoying Christmas story and song sessions .

Please help them to find objects at home that begin with our sound of the week and bring them for the display table. Our next sound will be n.

Next Week

No Forest School We will begin again in January a new rota will be displayed next term,

Tuesday New children visiting

Thursday Christmas lunch for Reception Class and those nursery children who attend a full day on Thursdays

Friday School finishes at 2pm

Monday 4th January  Reception Class return

Wednesday 6th January Nursery Class return. (This is to enable us to home visit all the new children)
