Live Love Care Think Learn Dare

Foundation Stage Friday : 15 January 2016

Here are some of the things that we have been doing this week:

  • Helping the new children to settle in.
  • Making a gingerbread shop and using it for imaginative play.
  • Looking at coins and learning about their value, that a 2p piece is worth the same as two 1p coins.
  • Sorting pictures of animals with and without bones.
  • Making pipe cleaner snails.
  • Glue and glitter snail trails.
  • Using magnet wands to move paper clips.
  • Making stick puppets.
  • Talking about our daily routine.

Reception children have now been divided into two groups

Blue Group

  • revising some of the set 1 sounds and working on blending them into words.

Green Group

  • Starting to learn set 2 sounds ay, ee and igh, Using their phonic knowledge to read a simple story using Red Ditty Book1,

Nursery children have been

  • learning the sound n.
  • enjoying story sessions

Please help them to find objects at home that begin with our sound of the week and bring them for the display table. Our next sound will be o.

Forest School Group 1 Children will need their full kit, warm socks and lots of layers please.  We hope to light fires and do some cooking this term but this can only happen if we have two parent helpers so please sign up for at least one session. Thank you
