Foundation Stage Friday

 29th April

Here are some of the things that we have been doing this week:

  • Using our imagination to tell our own stories about queens and kings. We then used our phonic knowledge to record them and we illustrated them too.
  • Practising and performing our May Day dance, didn’t they do well!
  • Sponge printing castle pictures
  • Fairy tale character stick puppets
  • Sequencing the life-cycle of the frog and imaginary play with the pond creatures
  • Observing flowers for May Day and making tissue paper ones
  • Playground games

Blue Group

  • Playing phonic games to consolidate Set 1 sounds, writing some red and green words and focusing on correct letter formation.

Green Group

Reading a simple story, filling in the missing words in a sentence, holding and writing a sentence.

 Nursery children have been

  • learning the sound y .

Please help them to find objects at home that begin with our sound of the week and bring them for the display table. Our next sound will be z.

  • Listening to Fairy tales and singing number songs
