Live Love Care Think Learn Dare

Foundation Stage Friday : 6 November

Here are some of the things that we have been doing this week:

Learning about the festival of Divali making mendhi hand patterns, rangoli floor patterns, clay and paper plate divas, lanterns, watching indian dance on the interactive board and joining in, dressing up in saris, cooking and tasting vegetable curry with rice and popadoms.

  • Painting our clay spiders.
  • Collage
  • Painting with watercolours.
  • Talking about the 5th of November, Guy Fawkes and bonfire night safety.
  • Reception children attended Collective Worship with Mrs Collins.

Reception children have been

  • learning the sounds v,y and w and how to write these correctly. They have used magnet boards to make simple words from the sounds learnt so far, blending the sounds to make words and then write the words.

Nursery children have been

  • learning the sound h.
  • enjoying song and rhyme sessions.

Please help them to find objects at home that begin with our sound of the week and bring them for the display table. Our next sound will be i.

Next Week

Our focus children for Learning Journeys are: Barney, Harry, Jack and Mason

Tuesday Forest School Group 1   Children will need their full kit and layers as it is getting cold.

Please ensure that your child has a complete change of NAMED clothes in their drawstring bag as they often get wet or muddy.
