Foundation Stage News 12 September

Welcome back we hope that you have all had a lovely summer. Welcome to our new children and their parents who will need to sign up for Parentmail, if they have not already done so, as this and other letters are distributed electronically.

Here are some of the things that we have been doing this week:

  • Helping the new children to settle in and getting to know each other.
  • Drawing and writing about our holiday experiences.
  • Writing postcards to our friends.
  • Enjoying the stories of The Queen’s knickers, The Gruffalo, The Tallest Giant in Town, The Animal Firefighters, A Squash and a Squeeze, Alfie’s Feet, Angelina Ballerina.

Read Write Inc.

Reception children have been

  • learning the sounds m, a, s d and t. and how to write these correctly. Please continue to support their learning by encouraging them to complete the sheets which they will bring home. The sheets may be kept at home for the children to refer to as they need to continue practising writing the sounds with the correct formation.

Part time children have been

  • learning the sound a.
  • enjoying song and rhyme sessions.

Please help them to find objects at home that begin with our sound of the week and bring them for the display table. Next week’s sound will be b.

Next Week

We have children with nut allergies who stay for lunch so please no nuts or peanut butter sandwiches in childrens packed lunches.

From next week Mrs Williams will be working in Red Room all day on Mondays and on Tuesday mornings until further notice. She will continue to work in Yellow Room on a Thursday and Friday. Ms Perry will continue to work in Red Room all Day Wednesday and on a Thursday and Friday morning.

Please ensure that your child has a named drawstring bag (rucksacks are too big and the children’s coats fall on the floor) with a complete change of NAMED clothes as they often get wet or muddy.
