Live Love Care Think Learn Dare

Foundation Stage News 7 November

Here are some of the things that we have been doing this week:

  • Talking about our holiday experiences especially Halloween and fireworks.
  • Painting our divas
  • Listening to stories about witches and wizards, drawing pictures, making spells and writing a shopping list for a witch or wizard.
  • Creating firework patterns by rolling marbles and tennis balls in paint,
  • Making a friendship tree
  • Designing a new hat for Winnie the Witch.


Read Write Inc. Reception children have been

  • Learning the sound sh. Using the sounds learnt so far to read simple words and make them on magnet boards.


Part time children have been

  • learning the sound h.
  • hearing and saying the sounds in simple consonant, vowel, consonant (CVC) words eg p,i,g pig,


Please help them to find objects at home that begin with our sound of the week and bring them for the display table. Next week’s sound will be i.

  • Enjoying stories Funnybones and Winnie the Witch stories


Next Week


Our focus children will be Alex, Emily, Euan and Ryley.



Children will need their full kit. Lots of warm layers. Please remember to name everything.

No rucksacks please as the children then can’t fit their coats on their pegs


Thursday Reception children will attend KS1 Collective Worship at St Peter’s church.

Friday World Diabetes Day children can wear a onesie or something blue please bring a donation
