FOHNS: the Winter Ball was a great success – everyone had a thoroughly good time and raised the magnificent sum of £3300 for new school tables and chairs. Wow! Many thanks to Hazel Hope and Carley Lambourne for organising and to everyone who supported the event.
The children’s discos last night also went very well with all the children enjoying a ‘boogie’. Thanks to Laura Wyatt for organising and all the FOHNS members and staff who helped on the night. Around £650 was raised for new furniture. Future events (full details will follow) include:-

Emergency Procedures for School Closure: In addition to informing BBC Radio Oxford – VHF/FM 95.2, HEART (Thames Valley) – VHF/FM 102.6/ 97.4/102.9/ 97.0/ 103.4 and Touch FM/Banbury Sound VHF/FM 107.6 who will make announcements on our behalf, we will send an e-mail via Parentmail, and put up-to-date information on our website: www.hook-norton.oxon.sch.uk. Because it can take some time for radio stations to update their closure lists, please check your e-mails and the school website first.
Unless there is an announcement on the local radio stations or the school website, or you receive a Parentmail e-mail, we will be open and children in the village are expected to attend. We close only if we do not have enough staff to ensure the safety of the children or if the school site is too dangerous to negotiate. If you come by car and road conditions are dangerous, please do not attempt the journey but contact the school to let us know; this will be treated as an authorised absence. In the event of the weather deteriorating during the school day, or loss of power, we may have to contact parents to collect children early – please ensure we have up-to-date contact numbers. If you need to contact school at times of school closure, the best way is via e-mail on firstname.lastname@example.org. Please do not telephone the school directly for information as we may not be able to man the phones.
