Newsletter 14 October 2016

Dear Parents

The new build is finished! There only remains for some outside work to be done i.e. seeding and a new gate.  Y5 and Y6 will be moving into the new classes and Y4 will be returning to their old class.  We will be hosting a grand opening in the New Year where you will be able to have a tour of the school and see for yourselves just how wonderful it is all looking.

After school care:  the school will be starting a new after school child care provision in the New Year.  ‘Owl Club’ will be run by Mrs Sue White who is an experienced child-minder, Teaching Assistant and helps run our Breakfast Club.  Owl Club will be based in our Study Centre and run from after school until 6.00pm Monday – Friday for children from Nursery up to Year 6 who attend Hook Norton School.  We will let you know more details in due course.
Family Focus reminder:  If you have signed up for Family Focus events at Chipping Norton School they are starting soon!

Photograph Reminder:  School individual photographs are taking place on Monday 17 October.  Please can children wear their smartest school uniform and ensure they have a blue sweatshirt or they won’t show up against the white background!

NSPCC:  Please could all donations be returned to school by next Friday 21 October.

Dinner Money: As of today, there is a shortfall of £476 to pay for meals – please ensure all school meals are paid for in advance (if by cash/cheque, this should be on a Monday please).

Harvest Festival:  The children all sang and performed well at our Harvest Service in church.  Mrs Collins surprised us with her information on just how many miles the ingredients for a pizza have to travel.    The church was packed out – thank you for your support and for your kind donations to Banbury Food bank.

Quiz Night:  Many thanks to Roger and Becky Cooke for their kind donation of £230.25 for the school library.

Apple Day: Many thanks to Laura Wyatt, Janeen Wilson and everyone who made cakes;  £237.45 was raised from games and cakes which has been donated to FOHNS.
