Expansion: This week a partition has gone up to create a small area for nursery children in the old cloakroom, diggers are busy preparing the groundwork for the new classrooms’ footings and part of the new fencing is in place. Hopefully, with some better weather, we will have the fencing and new gates completed at the front of the school next week.
It was a great experience for everyone to watch the football together yesterday; there was some very enthusiastic support for both teams and some tears at the end for Wales (mostly from me!).
After School Care Survey: the governors are conducting a survey to explore the feasibility of an After School Care Club at school. We have already had a good response to this, but if you haven’t responded yet, we would be very grateful if you could – even if you have no need of after school care. The link for the survey is: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/NZ66R5W
Changes to Parentmail: On Tuesday 21 June we will be upgrading to PMX – ParentMail’s latest platform – the system will be down that day. Please do not make any payments after 19 June, until you have completed the verification detailed below. For parents, the latest version of ParentMail means you can easily pick up school messages on your smartphone by downloading the free ParentMail App on Android or iOS. And that’s not all…
• Access ParentMail even when there’s no network connection.
• No need to search through your busy personal inbox for school messages.
• Instant access – no need to login to complete forms or read messages.
• In app notifications help make sure things don’t get missed or forgotten.
• Helps preserve your data allowance.
To use the latest version of ParentMail all you need to do is verify your account. Over the next few days you will be sent either an email or text message from ParentMail, when you receive this please just follow the instructions below – you will only need to register once. Please click on the link from the text or e-mail – you will be asked to enter some details to verify who you are and to set a password for your account. Please be assured that ParentMail is registered with the Information Commissioner and guarantees that all information you provide will be kept private and will not be passed on to any other organisation.
Please ensure you complete this verification process (we will be issuing new codes if you have not registered with Parentmail yet) as it is our main means of contact with you – quick, saves paper and doesn’t get lost or left in the cloakroom! It also enables us to get messages to everyone if returning late or early from visits – NB Year 6, important for next Friday!

Road Safety Scheme: Footsteps is Oxfordshire County Council’s child pedestrian road safety scheme. The aim of Footsteps is for children to learn to take responsibility and make decisions under the supervision of an adult. . Footsteps enables parents and carers to gradually teach their child according to age and ability until each child is able to become independent. Parents are encouraged to ask lots of open questions and discuss road safety skills which they may not have thought about. Here is a link to the leaflet.
