Dear Parents/Carers

FOHNS: The FOHNS committee are meeting next week to continue their planning for this year’s Christmas Fayre (Friday 15 December).   For the next four Fridays FOHNS are requesting donations in return for wearing non-school uniform:

  • Friday 24 November ~ Lucky dip/party bag type small prizes
  • Friday 1 December ~ Chocolate bars or boxes for the Children’s Tombola
  • Friday 8 December ~ Bottles for the Tombola
  • Friday 15 December ~ Cakes (individual small cakes preferred)

Please send your donations into the classroom with your child.  Many thanks for your support. 

Nursery Midday Supervisor Vacancy : Monday-Friday, 11.30am-12.45pm

£15,014 pro rata (£7.78 per hour) – 6.25 hours per week term time only

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and flexible Midday Supervisor to join our small and friendly team, to start as soon as possible.  Application forms and further details available from the office.

Anti-Bullying Week The children have been designing posters, completing Oxfordshire’s anti-bullying and cyber-bullying surveys and talking about behaviour and bullying in class. The winners of the anti-bullying competition are: Izzy Larkin, Imogen Muller, Lauren Barnett, Chloe Webb, Hetty Cooke, Darcey Davis-Batchelor and Freya White. Their work will be displayed in the KS2 corridor on the anti-bullying board.

Individual/family group photograph proofs will be coming home today – please follow the instructions contained in the envelope (separated parents who do not receive the proofs should contact the school via e-mail at to request a code) – returned by Friday 24/11/17.

Activities this week:

Nursery: Nursery Rhymes and musical accompaniments as part of World Nursery Rhyme Week.

Reception: Baking Children in Need Biscuits and activities around Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

Forest, Elf and Little Owls: Well done to Little Owls for their lovely class assembly. KS1 have been learning about traditional tales and writing about Lila and the Rain, an African traditional tale.

Y3: Choreographing and performing Alien dances.

Y4:  Writing play scripts about The Mystery of the Melting Snowman.

Y5: Anti-bullying posters and historical fact finding about North America on the laptops.

Y6: A very in-depth discussion about WW1 and Remembrance Sunday and very considered work on anti-bullying.

Whole school activities: the governors’ pay and personnel committee met and we had parents’ evening.

Attendance: Full Attendance 6 -10 November Y5 and Almost Full Attendance Y6, Little Owls and Elf Owls – well done!  Don’t forget we will be awarding certificates for full attendance for the term next month.

Out of School achievements: Alex Lewis Player of the Match HNFC U8s, Sophie Frame Stage 1 Swimming, Mason Hawthorne merit in his class Ballet exam, Ella Hawthorne merit in her Preliminary Ballet exam.
