Newsletter 2 December 2016

Dear Parents

It is already feeling a lot like Christmas, with the KS2 pantomime and the Christmas Fair preparations for tonight. The KS2 performances of ‘Porridge Pot’ were very entertaining with some wonderful acting, dancing and singing.  We were thoroughly entertained. Thank you to Janeen Wilson and Laura Wyatt for the refreshments.

FOHNS: Tonight is the Christmas Fair and it promises to be a lovely evening with lots of stalls and entertainment for the children.  Please do come along if you can.

Owl Club: the new After School Care club details are being sent as hard copy as well as on parentmail.

All clubs have finished for this term.

Beer Festival: Thank you to the Hook Norton Beer Festival for their donation of £400 last night at the donations evening and thank you to Hayley White, Jemma Maule and Chris Wilson for doing the catering for the evening. They worked their socks off!

Conjunctivitis (red/pink sticky eyes):  The latest guidance is that you do not need to see your GP but you do need to bathe the eyes, ensure good personal hygiene and buy drops from the chemist in severe cases. Children do not need to be kept off school.

Dinner Money: Please can you make your payments in advance for school meals – we have had only £35 for this week…

WELL DONE: This week we have said well done to all of KS2 for their wonderful production.

Parent Governor: I am delighted that two parents have put themselves forward to be a governor, which means we now have an election.  Please look out for the paperwork in book bags! Any separated parents please email the office if you do not receive your ballot papers.

ACTIVITIES:  This week I visited King’s Meadow School in Bicester and met with the head teacher and headteacher from Ducklington Primary school. All the classes have been busy making and cooking for the Christmas Fair. KS2 bowled us over with their panto.

Out of School Achievements: Heath Marshall Best Team Player for under 7s Rugby, Swimming- Poppy Driver Stage 4, Toby Driver Stage 4,Otto Thompson 25m and 20m, Anna Horth 25m. (There was no Well Done Assembly this week because of KS1 rehearsals, so children will get their certificates next week.)

Kind regards
