The new foundation stage has been handed over! The new classroom is wonderful and staff are busy sorting out everything ready to move in. The outdoor space for Foundation Stage will take some time to be landscaped, but we will be able to use the covered area.
International Week : Due to the disruption and lack of space caused by the building work and moving classes, we have decided to postpone this event until the Autumn term.
Road Safety: If your child cycles or scooters to school via The Glebe, please remind them which way they should be going. A parent has had a near miss with children in the middle of the road going the wrong way.
Reminders: Next Wednesday is Wig Wednesday 25 May; remember to wear a wig, silly hair or hat, in return for a donation to CLIC Sargent, supporting children and families with cancer.
Year 3 Cake Sale Thursday 26 May, after school (please could we ask Year 3 parents to provide cakes on the plates being sent out at the beginning of next week – hand to the office Thursday morning, thank you!).
End of term finishes next Friday at normal time. Please ensure all PE kits are taken home ready for all the sporting events in the summer term.
Y2 tests: Next week Y2 will be taking their SATS; please ensure children are in school and on time.
Thank you to Banbury Plant Hire for their donation of soil for our new beds, organised through the Incredible Edible scheme, and to the Cubs for transporting the soil to their new beds. Some children were convinced there had been a giant mole on the field!
E-Safety Evening: Thursday 26 May 6.30pm. We have booked a specialist for this evening, in response to our last parental survey, so please do come along. It promises to be a very informative session on how to keep our children safe on the internet.
WELL DONES: This week we have said ‘Well Done’ to Ben Muller, Caden Grootaert, Remy Casson, Alfie Hambidge, Abigail Nunneley, Charlotte Nunneley, Oliver Wilson, Finn Casson, Leila Denne, Emily Carroll-Mayes, Rosie Petre, Dixie Kenneford.
Mrs Belgrove’s Stars of the Week: Abu-Baker Hafiz for his care for a younger pupil and Edward Mix for his politeness.
ACTIVITIES/VISITS: This week we practised our ‘lock down’ procedure which went very smoothly; all the children were so sensible and calm. The first group of Y5 children have taken their cycling proficiency test.
OUT OF SCHOOL ACHIEVEMENTS: Well done to: Orla McArdle for her sporting achievements with Banbury Rugby Club, Tahlia Robinson Stage 1 Swimming, Mya Scobbie 25m Swimming and Preliminary Safety Skills.
