Newsletter 21 December 2018

Dear Parents

It has been an incredibly busy term and everyone is certainly ready for a holiday!  The children have worked really hard and we have enjoyed the Christmas performances from KS1 and KS2 and the Christmas sing-a-long from Reception.  Our recorders played wonderfully for the senior citizens and at Font Café in St Peter’s Church.  The Christmas Fair was a very festive event and raised around £2,600 for our new school website. (Our website is currently out of action as we will be launching the new site in the New Year).

Yesterday there was much excitement as Father Christmas rode by on the Brewery Dray and all the children were outside to greet him.

We had a delicious Christmas lunch cooked by Philippa Collins and her cook’s brigade and everyone wore their Christmas hats.

Today we had a lovely Christmas Service in school, with a talk from Mrs Collins and Pastor Pete from the Baptist Church, where we learnt that the greatest gift given at Christmas was Jesus.  The children sang so beautifully under the expert tutelage of Miss Quartermain.  There were prayers from the classes and our Young Christian Leaders told the story of the Nativity in a very entertaining way.
