School Meals: The School Lunch Company have consulted with the children through the School Council and produced a delicious new menu which is coming home today, we start with Week 1 when we return after the October holiday. Please make sure payments for meals are made in advance (on Mondays or via Parentmail at

Staffing: Mrs Beverley Pendery and Mrs Shirley Mill are leaving us mid-November, Mrs Pendery having completed over 8 years’ service as Midday Supervisor, and Mrs Mill over 20 years – we wish them both well for the future. We are now looking to recruit two enthusiastic and flexible Midday Supervisors to join our small and friendly team, 7.5 hours per week, 11.30am to 1.00pm, Monday to Friday in term time only. Full details and application forms available from the school office (via e-mail preferred at   We said goodbye today to Mr Ryan Jones from Ignite Sports who has been providing our sports coaching over the past two years. Karl Wade from Wade Gym will take over the rest of the coaching on Tuesday and Friday afternoons.

FOHNS Bag2School – thanks for all the donations which raised £132.00 for the Friends. Year 6 Big Bake Cake Sale – thanks to Year 6’s and their parents for all the cakes – this month’s sale raised £161.15. Licenced bar applied for – remember those Snowballs and Babycham? (other drinks available) Time to dust off those platforms and flares (although dressing up is optional!).

This week we have said well done to All Year 1, Bella-May Perry, Edward Lehmann, Alfie Simmonds, Toby Driver, All Year 4, Maizey Jack, Miles Lloyd, Abu-Baker Hafiz, Jayden Mobley, Ethan Parrott, Finn Casson, Hayley Hambidge, All Year 6.

ACTIVITIES:  Thank you to Year 4 for a brilliant class assembly, well done to our hockey teams who played well in the inter-schools U11s tournament, the girls were the overall Big School winners?  A group of Year 6’s spoke with the penpals in Sweden via Skype, and Year 1’s were visited by a collection of different animals as part of their big question ‘Why are humans not like tigers?’  Thank you to Mrs Mariner who came in to talk to Year 2 about Kenya. Mrs Nixon spent an afternoon at Ducklington Primary School as part of the Global Learning programme, Mrs Hope attended HR/Payroll training, and Mrs Peters PE training.
