Dear Parents

We are coming to the end of the new build now and the new classrooms are looking fantastic!  We are very excited and hope to be moving in before half term.

Our new reward system is going very well indeed; the children are so motivated to get those tokens.  And when I gave out my first gold stars for telling me what the ‘R’ stands for in ‘ER’…Well done to Cecily Peacock and David Kirk for the right answer: Regina (Latin for Queen).

Friends Annual General Meeting – Tuesday 27 September, 8.00pm

The Friends will be holding their AGM on Thursday 27 September in school. Please join us for some light refreshment and an opportunity to put forward ideas for the coming year.  If you would like to be involved but cannot make the meeting please let a committee member know.

FOHNS Back to the Future: Thank you to everyone involved and for those who attended, and a big thank you to Hook Norton brewery, Holdsworth foods, Nigel Matthews, The Village Shop and our wonderful sponsors too.  The weather was good and everyone thoroughly enjoyed watching the film under the stars, with a profit of around £600 raised for FOHNS.

Thanks also to Laura Wyatt for organising games at the Beer Festival, raising £187 for FOHNS.

NSPCC Assembly:  This week we had a visit from the NSPCC who talked to the children in assembly about how to keep themselves safe and about Childline.  In return we are fundraising for this very worthwhile charity this term. Children will be doing various maths challenges (Times tables, number bonds) and we hope you will be able to sponsor them.  Please look out for sponsorship forms in your child’s book bag next week.

Special Educational Needs: Oxfordshire’s support service invite you to a parents’ guide to a transfer review Weds 10-11.30am , 28 September Corn Exchange Witney, 19 October Didcot Civic Hall, 23 November Banbury Town Hall.
