Dear Parents

It was wonderful see the children out and about in the school grounds making the most of the sunshine; such a cheer went up when I said it was dry enough to go on the field!

May Day Celebrations – Friday 1 May, 9.30am  (should finish by 11am)

(FOHNS serving Coffee & Croissants from 9am)

You are warmly invited to join us for our May Day celebrations next week, which will commence at 9.30am on the playground (weather permitting – otherwise we will have to be in the school hall). Prior to the celebrations, FOHNS will be selling tea, coffee & croissants (£1) from 9.00am (outside if we are lucky and the weather is fine, otherwise in the hall/study centre) to all spectators attending the May Day celebrations.

Dress Code: Girls –pretty dresses, Boys – smart shirts and school trousers or shorts, Year 6 – jeans and a white shirt or t-shirt, with sensible shoes for dancing (no crocs, flip flops, boots or loose slip-on shoes). Children should come to school in their May Day outfits but can change into school uniform afterwards if you wish. Please make sure children bring a warm coat!

Afternoon Foundation Stage children may join the dancing – please bring children to the Foundation Stage Unit at 9.15am, and collect them from the classroom at the end of the celebrations. If wet weather means that we have to be in the hall, children should be collected after their dance from the Foundation Stage.

FOHNS Bingo – Saturday 25 April – 4-6pm in the School Hall – tickets are still available for tomorrow’s Bingo – either from school office at the end of today, or on the door (we have ordered extra food to accommodate a few more!). The cost of £2.50 each includes entry, bingo card & dabber – the Friends will be selling refreshments (hot food/ice cream/popcorn) and have a licenced bar.

Coming up … FOHNS Bike & Bake – Sunday 10 May, 2-4pm Buy/sell second hand bikes (adult & child), bring your bike for service/repair, cakes, refreshments, and Brownies will be running a table top sale.  Something for everyone!  Bring second hand bikes and cakes from 12noon (or the Friday before) – 25% of sale price to FOHNS (please label bikes with name, telephone & price).
