Dear Parents

The FOHNS Quiz Night was a great success, raising £272. Many thanks to Kevin Hope for setting the quiz and to everyone who attended.

Woodwind performance: Mr Allen’s group will be performing in assembly next Monday 7 July at 9.10am in the school hall – parents welcome.

Y1-6 Sports Day Reminder: Wednesday 9 July (9.30am start). Children will need a hat and sun cream (please apply before coming to school). Drinks will be provided. FOHNS will be selling coffee & croissants & bacon rolls from 8.55am.

Foundation Stage Sports Day takes place on Tuesday 15 July (10.30am for morning children and 2.10pm for afternoon children – parents of full-timers are welcome to attend either).

Alternative Sports Day: Congratulations to Yellow Team who were the winners of our Alternative Sports Day, where children compete in their house colours in a variety of team athletics activities. Points awarded also go towards the overall winner at Sports Day. Many thanks to all the volunteers who helped the day run so smoothly.

PE Kits: Please return school PE kits; we currently have seven missing!

Sun Cream: If you are able to help your children with sun cream before they come to school it will last until lunchtime. We have a number of children taking so long to put on their cream at morning break that the bell is going before they have a chance to get outside!

Head Lice: They are back in Year 3 – please check and treat your child’s hair.

Impetigo: Please look out for symptoms (particularly in Year 6) – it is highly infectious and children should be kept at home until lesions are crusted or healed.

Attendance: Well done to Y6 for Almost Full Attendance 23-27 June.

Y3 Visit: Friday 11 July, Year 3 will be walking to Hook Norton Library and will need appropriate footwear and macs.

Virtual Athletics: A recent inter-school competition for the Chipping Norton Partnership.

Children in KS2 take part in three activities – Long jump, ball throw and speed bounce – and the best results for each year group (boys and girls) are put forward.

We did extremely well in the long jump (as we did last year!) Gold Award: Cole Davies, William Ingham, Ines Ransom, Zach Warner, Rowan Wilkes. Silver Award: Jerome Davies, Lydia Lewis, Alex Wintle, Catherine Monelle. Bronze Award: Cathryn Kirk, Lewis Pendry, Tom Joyner, Emily Jessop.
