Newsletter 5 October 2018

Dear Parents

We have had our first governing body meeting where Matt Fowler was appointed Chair of Governors and Joe Williams was appointed Vice-Chair. Derek Lyseight-Jones is the SEN, Equalities and Safeguarding governor and Adam Lawrence is responsible for H&S.  We also welcomed Sally Newman as a new community governor.

Activities this week:  Y6 presented a wonderful assembly, full of variety, of the work they have been doing in just a few short weeks.  They also led a Make me Smile mental health workshop for Y4s, which was extremely well done and appreciated by the younger children.  Y5s have been enjoying a brilliant week at Liddington, challenging themselves and tackling many new things, including, for some, being away from home for the first time.  They have all risen to the challenge – well done.

Our Y6 football teams did very well in the CNPS tournament with the Boys coming 3rd and the Girls 4th.  Their behaviour was exemplary. Zoe Milne, Leila Denne, Lucas Bayliss and Beau Lawrence were all awarded Sporting Champion certificates.

Request from the office!  We do appreciate that changes are sometimes necessary for pick-up arrangements at the end of the school day; however, this is a particularly busy time for the office staff and requests often involve sending multiple messages to different children, staff and clubs leaders. Please ensure arrangements are put in place before dropping children off at school so that we can keep messages for emergency last minute arrangements only.  Thank you for your co-operation.

School Meals should be paid for in advance – we have over £500 owed and invoices to pay, please pay outstanding balances by Monday and include any meals your child(ren) are going to be taking next week, we will be issuing £25 late payment administration charges to those who have already had reminders.

Go Gold:  Thank you to everyone who took part and bought gold pins after school – the grand total raised was £446.80 for this extremely worthy cause.

Attendance: Well Done to Little Owls for almost Full Attendance 24-28 September and to Y4 for Full Attendance.

Well Done:  This week we have said well done to: Beau Cobb-Pearson, Elodie Thompson, Bea Brown, Oliver Findlay, Mae Moore, Jack Deller, Sammy Tracey, Sydney Maule, Charlie Mariner, Rowan Redford-Hunt, All Y6, All Y5.

Reminder: Year 5 Class Assembly Wednesday 10th October 9.10am

Out of School achievements: James McArdle Player of the Match HNFC, Joseph Fowler BRUFC exceptional rugby player, Zoe Milne Gold, Silver and Bronze Life Saving Awards.
