Dear Parents

Next week Miss Persaud has organised a Prayer Space in the library where children will be able to come and reflect, with various activities to take part in.

You are most welcome to visit the Prayer Space which is open to parents and visitors on Thursday 12th February 3.15 – 4.45pm.  Please do come along.

Reminders: Year 5 Class Assembly Wed 11th Feb 9.10am

Attendance : Well done to Year 3 for Almost Full Attendance 26-30 January and to Year 5 and Year 6 for Full Attendance 26-30 January.

Head Lice : Reported in Year 2; please check your child’s hair and treat.

FOHNS: Thanks to everyone who supported – and particularly Kevin Hope for organising – the Quiz at the Sports & Social Club last Friday which raised £252.

Next Friday, 13 February, the Friends will holding a Valentine’s cake saleafter school – donations of suitably themed cakes would be very welcome, please bring into school by Friday morning, and don’t forget to bring some cash at the end of the day if you would like to buy some!

Tickets are now on sale from the school office for the next FOHNS event, Skittles Night at The Sun – 7.30pm, Friday 27 February, £15 including welcome drink and food (please advise of any dietary requirements when buying tickets). We have a winning prize of a family ticket for Banbury MFA Bowl, and The Sun are donating 10% of the bar takings to FOHNS. There will be a raffle on the night (donations of any prizes would be very welcome).

Message from Hooky girls’ football team:  Girls’ Football Fun : Are you in year 3, 4 or 5? Would you like to play football? If so, we would love you to join our Hooky girls’ football team. Message from Hook Norton Cricket Club: HNJCC want to re-introduce ‘minis’ cricket coaching this season and are looking for coaches Tuesdays 6.30-7.30pm May to July: Years 1-4, boys and girls. No formal cricket qualifications are required by anyone who is prepared to help. If you would like to discuss further please contact Paul White at: or 01608 730731 or 07779 716555. Mrs Belgrove’s Stars of the WeekElliott Miskin for being so polite and helpful, Sophia Humphreys for her expressive reading.

Activities: A group of talented artists from Year 4 and Year 5 enjoyed an Art workshop at Chipping Norton School with other partnership pupils.  Mrs Joyner has attended maths training.  Miss Nunneley met with the partnership link teachers to discuss sports provision in our schools. Year 6 are due back today from Yenworthy; reports back say they have had a fantastic time.

Out of School Achievements: Imogen Hutchinson Exam 1 Classical Ballet, Scarlett Ward Ice Skating Stage 1, Oscar Ward Under 8 and Under 9 Backstroke and Butterfly winner Banbury Swimming Club Championship Awards, Will and Edie Cooper who both came second in their age range at the Banbury Parkrun.
