Dear Parents

Our Swedish visitors arrived safe and sound and are enjoying their experiences as British schoolchildren. There have been lots of activities already, including a visit to Cogges Farm where luckily the sun shone all day!

We have received a letter of congratulations and a Children’s Bible from the Bishop of Dorchester and a card from the Oxford Diocesan Board of Education commending us on our recent Church Inspection.

KS1 Moderation: this year we were selected for moderation of our KS1 assessments and I am pleased to say that the moderator was very impressed with our thoroughness and supported all our judgements. She was particularly struck with the high standard of Reading she observed.


Ice-cream Friday raised £90, thanks to Nicky Holiday who organised and served the ice-creams single-handedly in spite of the rain!

FOHNS Quiz at the Sports & Social Club – Friday 27 June : 7.45pm for 8pm start – teams of 4-6, £2.50 per person.

WELL DONES: This week we have said ‘Well Done’ to Rebecca Milne, Scarlett Ward, Tia Whitmore, Eleanor Bailey, Callum Tarbit, all Year 2, all Year 6, Adam White, Nicholas Persson, Elinor Tomalin, Cathryn Kirk, Carys Lehmann.

Mrs Belgrove’s Stars of the Week: Emily Outten for her contributions in Collective Worship and Lucas Bayliss for being so polite and holding the door open for me!

ACTIVITIES/VISITS: Y6 and the Swedish children visited Cogges Farm, Y4 had a Tri-Golf session with a coach in school.

OUT OF SCHOOL ACHIEVEMENTS: Well done to: Benjamin Layton-Toye 10m Swimming Award, Matthew Campbell Stage 4 Swimming, Emily Jessop 100m Swimming, Emily Carroll-Mayes 200m Swimming, Fred Neal Most improved player 2013-14 Bloxham Under 8’s Football Team, Ella White PGL certificate of achievement.
