We have had a great week thinking about the Six Nations Rugby Tournament! Inside we have been making rugby pitches, designing rugby shirts, learning about the flags of the six nations and finding the six nations on a map.
Outside we have been making rugby shirt cards, playing in our role play sports shop and learning to play games with rugby balls.
In Friday cookery class we made pizza and talked about pizza as part of a healthy balanced diet.
We have had a special visitor this week, Mr Puttick, who has been playing rugby games with us and teaching us more about rugby.
We have also had the opportunity to visit the prayer space and think about how we can speak to God. The children did activities like thinking about what they’re thankful for, moulding Christian symbols out of playdough and connecting to God through plasma balls. Our thoughts and prayers travelled up to heaven through our bubble tubes.
Phonics is going well. We are continually assessing children to ensure that they are getting personalised provision.
This week we have been learning to double and halve numbers, talking about the language of fractions and the concept of sharing equally. Can your child split an even number of items in half?
After half term our Learning Journey children will be Beau, Poppy and Niamh.
Please keep your child (and any younger children) with you before and after school.
PE kits should have come home for washing and need to be back in school on Monday! This is the perfect opportunity to check that your child’s PE kit items are named.
Please make sure your child’s clothes (including hats, gloves, Forest clothes, PE kits etc.) are named.
Please enquire at the office if you are interested in finding out more information about our wrap around care (Owl Club).
After half term
No Forest School on Tuesday.
PE on Monday.
We will be continuing to learn about different sports.
Have a great break!
