We have thoroughly enjoyed a week finding out about pumpkins and continuing our Autumn theme. Inside, inspired by the story of Pumpkin Soup we have been painting pumpkins and the story characters, making model banjos and bagpipes and recording simple recipes. We also made a delicious apple crumble which went down very wellJ Outside we have been conker rolling with paint and making collage Autumn trees in different ways.
On Thursday we celebrated our Harvest Festival and sang our Harvest songs very enthusiastically with the rest of the school. Thank you for all the donations of bread rolls and it was lovely to see so many of you at the Harvest Supper. We raised a fantastic £374 in donations.
Phonics & Maths:
In Phonics we have learnt our new sounds f, e, l and h. Thank you for helping your child with these at home.
In Maths we have been learning to make comparisons between heights & lengths and using superlative language such as taller and tallest. Can your child find two different long and short things and tell you which one is longer and shorter? Can they use the words longest and shortest? And compare the heights of different family members?
The School Photography Company date for individual portraits has been postponed from Monday 16/10/17 to Thursday 2 November instead.
No Forest School as Mrs Macdonald is out on a course Tuesday & Wednesday.
